A very close game took place in Santurce betweenGigantes and Cangrejeros . Third ranked Gigantes (10-8) got a very close victory on the road over 6th ranked Cangrejeros (7-12). Gigantes managed to escape with a 2-point win 82-80 on Tuesday evening. Carolina made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Carolina made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for American guard Jaylen Nowell (193-1999, college: Washington) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 4 assists. The former international point guard Tremont Waters (180-1998, college: LSU, agency: Shark Sports Management) helped adding 13 points and 6 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Four Gigantes players scored in double figures. Gigantes' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American forward Davon Jefferson (203-1986, college: USC) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and the former international point guard Angel Rodriguez (180-1992, college: Miami, FL) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Gigantes have a solid series of four victories in a row. Carolina maintains third place with 10-8 record having seven points less than leader San German, which they share with Aguada. Santurce lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Ponce and Manati.
